The christmas release “Back To You” by Faroese/American singer and songwriter Marianna Winter, radiates true christmas spirit through a warm and cosy, tape filtered mixture of r&b, soul, pop and jazziness. The song features nine tracks of elegantly arranged harmonies, supporting Marianna’s soothing vocals. Wistful and introspective, the song reflects on the subject of longing for someone or something out of reach. In her case, her younger self. Although the lyrics and mood is quite melancholy, Marianna manages to give the song a sense of hope.
